That is a lot of copies. I guess Mike Griffith, publishing CEO of Activision, said something about it earlier today. It has been about a year and a half since the game first released. In comparison, that is more than any Halo game, more than GTA 3 and very close to GTA Vice city sales.

I don’t know the specific details but I assume it is across the PS3 and Xbox 360 with the GOTY editions as part of the number as well. I would guess that the DS version of the game isn’t included in the 13 million since it really is a completely different game but Activision might lump it in with total sales.

Kudos to the team over at Infinity Ward, hopefully Modern Warfare 2 will do just as well.
