I came across some surprising and fantastic news today when reading through gamasutra.com‘s news column. Professor Layton and the Curious Village (Nintendo) was the top selling DS game on Amazon.com in both the North American and UK regions. The game outsold both the brand new Pokemon Platinum (Nintendo) as well as Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (Rockstar).

Back when Professor Layton came out on DS about a year ago I played through the game in less than a week and absolutely loved it.There are two more Professor Layton games that have already released in Japan and another that is currently in development. The second game in the series titled Professor Layton and the Diobolical Box is slated to come out this fall, and I can’t wait.
