Weekend Media Update: Honey Bunches of Oats
In case you didn’t know ComicCon ’09 is happening right now and there is quite a bit going on. I watched quite a few new videos over the past couple of days and a few of them were fucking amazing and not all are video game related. I would love to embed all of the videos before the break but that would likely end in having the entire front page taken over by me. So, in effort to avoid Josh from yelling at me you will be able to view all the videos by clicking on the “Read more…” link directly below this text.
Borderlands:
Finally, a fucking trailer of Borderland with its new visual style. When they released the screenshots earlier they looked neat but I wanted to see that shit in motion, and here it is. I am excited to get my hands on this game. While the game is set is some desert wasteland this game has COLOR and I love it. So many games today are completely devoid of color it is depressing and it is great to see a game add some color back in. Aside from that the game is going to have 4 player coop, 87 bazillion guns, some crazy ass monsters, and dancing robots. What more could you ask for?
The Book of Eli:
Holy shit on a stick, this movie looks amazing. This whole trailer just screams “Fallout” to me and I love it. That is all.
RAGE:
This is a game that has had me champing at the bit for quite some time now and it seems that id is going to keep me that way as the game won’t be releasing until late 2010, if not later. Luckily id likes to tease their newest game from time to time to keep the fanboys (myself included) at bay. About half of the video is reused from older stuff but we got to see a couple of new bits here. We are finally being introduced to a little bit of the back story of the world of RAGE. One other thing I noticed at about 30 seconds in was a semi-circle icon the moved between two enemies. My guess is that since they are focusing on the console versions there will be some sort of targeting system in place.
Halo Legends:
Ohh, Halo anime! I have been a fan of anime for quite a while so this has me pretty excited. I have absolutely no idea what part of the story is going to cover but I am definitely looking forward to watching this. I showed the trailer to my younger brother and he seems pretty into it. He has never been into Halo because he doesn’t really play console games but he said he would watch the anime because the story interests him.
Tron Legacy:
If watching that doesn’t get you excited that I don’t know what will. This movie won’t be coming out for quite a while and this is just a teaser video but the film already looks amazing. The new and improved light cycles look fucking sick. That chase scene had me so excited while I watched it. I really like how I can actually see what is happening because it has such a clean look to it.
Ok, no more videos for now. Five videos is enough for now. I will probably post a video during the week sometime. If not, there will always be the media update next weekend.
