Yes, the biggest games of the year dropped last week. Yes, Borderlands came out yesterday and apparently Rich loves it. YES, I should be doing my job and playing these new games in order to keep with the times, as well as reviewing them for you, the viewers. But no, I’m sitting at home, playing Dragonball Z Burst Limit. I know, I’m insane. But, because I have access to a soapbox on the Roman street known as the internet, I’m going to explain why I’m playing this.

DBZ has been around since forever. So have videogames based off of the franchise. I’ve been playing them starting with the Budokai series and I’ve played about half of the games that came out after it. Playing these games are a callback to my youth watching the show every day and the late Toonami. And, might I say, my youth was awesome.

I have never not liked watching Goku fight Frieza. Every iteration of the series I play feels the same because I will always like that fight. DBZ may be the only series to call people back to their past though. It may be because the DBZ game franchise has a new game out every year.

It’s the same fight I’ve been playing for years, but the funny japanese title after “Dragonball Z” never stays the same.
