FWF: Rock Band 3

I don’t know if any of you remember but a few months back a few of the big wigs from Harmonix said that “Rock Band 3 will teach you about how to play real music”. Well I thought about this for awhile and came up with an idea on how that could be possible, without making you shell out cash for a fancy peripheral.

Even though the sheet music’s notes would be way off; at least you would learn about rhythm. (Kind of like the same way you would study sheet music for a snare drum in a drum corps) Not to mention implementing slurs would be so much fun.

I’m not going to bother list the huge number of problem with this interface, I realize it would take a ton of tweaking to get it to work; this is just an idea to get everyone thinking.

Also I realize that Dhani Harrision was most likely talking about designing a new peripheral and implementing Natal, but do you think that this concept would be cool?

Josh's guide to creating your gamertag

While browsing these things called ‘the internets’, I’ve noticed that the general ‘gaming’ population has as, at best, a loose grasp on grammar and spelling. Now, while there is nothing I can do to help those particular aspects, I can assist on something else gamers fail at: their gamertags.

I assume many gamers give up rather quickly when picking out a gamertag and write down whatever comes to mind first. You see, that gamertag is the only thing preventing you from going online and playing with your douchebag friends, as we all know douchebags travel in packs. So you try to be cool and type in ‘TigerClaw, but it’s taken! Suddenly, you decide to add 29 to the end of it, and you’re off to the races. You just made your first mistake.

There are certain rules when it comes to gamertags, the rules link to handy examples of actual gamertags:

- No numbers at the end of your name
- None of that Xx or xX shit, as well as Zz or single letters like ‘xsomethingx’
- Only one letter can be substituted with a similar number, for instance you can replace an E with a 3
- You cannot just use your full name, nor your first name (without being clever, ie ‘RonCore‘) Continue reading…

PixelJunk Shooter, A REVIEW! (with commentary by Cory)

So, I picked up PixelJunk’s latest game on the PSN, PixelJunk Shooter.  I’ve played the  other PJ games in the past like Racers, Monsters and Eden, so I figured this would be worth  the 10 bucks, and it was.The game is short *Insert cheap joke*. and was beaten by my brother *O_O* and me in less than a few hours *Not as interesting*. Verse I

First of all, I had to say that when I heard the premise of this game I was really turned off. A witch that has guns on the heels of her shoes, who casts spells with her hair. I stopped reading after that. Immediately I dismissed this game as a pure pile of crap based on that concept alone. Imagine my surprise when my roommate showed up with the game a few days ago. I couldn’t not talk shit to him, I mean, what kind of idiot picks up this crap… then he started playing. Continue reading…

Adult Entertainment Expo, Part 2

When taking pictures, you always have to factor in what you can do different from the next guy. At the AEE there were tons of photographers, some with pretty sick gear, taking pictures of all the lovely Porn Stars. It didn’t seem that anyone was capturing the convention itself, most pictures were of girls posing for pictures, and that’s boring. I attempted to capture more of what was going on, and hopefully you get what I was trying to do.
