DSi or DSLite: You Decide

DSi or DSLite: You Decide

On the eve of the release of the DSi XL in the United States, I have found that there are many people out there that believe that the DSi (although newer) is inferior to the DSLite. Since I am a sucker, I am going to be picking up the DSi XL in several hours and adding it to the original DSi in my ever growing collection of consoles. In the meantime, I would like to offer the following reasons why the DSi and DSi XL are better than the DSLite.

Hack Slash, Side Scroll, Over Powered Space thing

Hack Slash, Side Scroll, Over Powered Space thing

A lot of people complain about games like Halo and Gears of War being more of the same crap. They wonder how these games are getting “Game of the Year” awards and how everyone can get excited for another mindless hack and slash. There is a reason why these games are so successful and why they continue into a series of top sellers. There is a formula to making great games and each one has a specific flavor that keeps gamers hooked.

Geoff likes Bat… men… or something

Geoff likes Bat… men… or something

Being the un-official Batman Guru on Golgotron.com, as well as someone who loves him some games based on his favourite source material, I thought I’d take time to discuss Batman: Arkham Asylum 2. The sequel to the smash hit title that many reviewers called “2009’s Bioshock” has an inevitable sequel which should be hitting shelves this year. While, I personally feel that this is incredibly too soon for a sequel to this title, we can’t stop the train from rolling on this one. It’s not like it’s a sequel to Lego Batman or something. I mean, It was good to see a really great game based on Batman (only took them a few decades). But, a follow up with a redundant game would squander the greatness of the original.

My Best Gaming Related Stories

My Best Gaming Related Stories

I believe everyone’s best moments in gaming are very personal. They become cherished memories that other players may or may not understand or be able to relate to. On the other hand, all players will be able to relate to having these memories and moments. I remember Belisle’s monologue on the podcast on his cherished missed click in Natural Selection. I’m sure the other staff members have their own favourites as well. With that said, here are some of my peronsally cherished moments. Continue reading…

Ghost Recon Future Soldier Trailer

Ubisoft’s upcoming tactical 3rd person action game Ghost Recon: Future Solider is not a  game I would typically get excited about. Not so much because I don’t like Ubisofts’ take on the genre, but more so because, try as I might, I could never really get myself into the games. After watching the new trailer, I am really in awe at the quality of the production and really curious as to how Ubisoft will handle creating situations that feel this epic in-game.  I have to admit, I am really impressed with the trailer and am excited to see this game in action.

Global Agenda FREE Trial Bitches

Global Agenda FREE Trial Bitches

Hey Kids! Go over to http://www.globalagendagame.com/gafriend/ and signup for the free trial for Global Agenda. I would be playing instead of posting this, but I have to download it through steam first. Trial lasts forever, but you can only get to level 15.

I have no clue how the friends system works, but I named my guy TERRORdactyl so find him and be his buddy. Ya, I know the name is badass.

For anyone who doesn’t know, Global Agenda is a crazy FPS/MMO, the coolest/lamest of all PC game genres. Player formed corporations are the factions, there are no bullshit built-in unchangeable factions like in every other lame ass MMO telling you who you can kill and who you can’t. The corporations are battling for the world, ya, the whole thing.  But you fight other players for control of a small piece of territory, this allows for multiple battles on multiple fronts to be happening simultaneously. Crazy shit goin down son.

Someone mentioned at some point that there is a PVE aspect to the game, and blah blah blah. I’m gonna be in there flyin my jetpack and killin’ kids, I’m pretty sure you can level up  that way too.

So join me! On this hype train that will only end in tears!
