EEDAR Charts, John Riccitiellos, and Bears! OH MY!

EEDAR Charts, John Riccitiellos, and Bears! OH MY!

At this year’s E3, NamelessTed and I had the honor of attending the Wedbush/EEDAR party, where we got to hobnob with analysts and the “big-swinging dicks” of the gaming industry.  We were definitely outclassed…  I mean seriously, Ted should never be in the same room as John Riccitiello, but I digress.  We had an incredible time bantering about industry trends and discussing which of the big three were going to pull it out this year.  I was going to do a big write-up of my overall thoughts on this year’s convention, but by this point it’s just not worth it; I’ve covered most of it on the last couple of podcasts.  I did, however, wake up this morning to an email from the fine people of EEDAR (Electronic Entertainment Design and Research) showcasing what you, the gamers, were excited for and decided to share.  There aren’t too many surprises here, though I did severely underestimate the appeal of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. People really like those games…  perhaps I should finally get around to playing them.  I am, however, NOT ONE BIT SURPRISED at the last of interest in Sony’s “Hail Mary” Twisted Metal.  Like I’ve stated on several shows, people want TM: Black 2!  FUCK UNIVERSAL APPEAL!  DON’T FORGET YOUR AUDIENCE OR WHO BUILT YOUR FRANCHISE!  *sigh* Charts after the jump…

Sony maybe up 1% over last year’s polls, but again, that’s not saying much.  I hope I’m right in assuming that they looked at what Nintendo and Microsoft had this year and kind of backed off to crush it in ’11.  Ted thinks I’m wrong, but as I explained to him, they had a lot in their war chest they could have unleashed: Uncharted 3, The Last Guardian, FF versus, or a new Kingdom Hearts, perhaps?  They could have had a much better show.  However, I’m sure they know that they can’t just tie, they need a win.  So, here’s to hoping for a breakout TGS… or a better next year.

Thanks to Jesse Divnich of EEDAR for sending me these, and more thanks to IGN.com and Gametrailers.com for putting this information together.
