Gamescom 2010 brought us our first look at Tekken x Street Fighter. Harada qualified these images by reminding fans that they are very rough and very early but a good example of the quality and effort the Tekken team will be applying to Capcom’s beloved fighters.

I’m sure more work will go into each Street Fighter favorite appearing in TxSF, but for a first draft I think it looks a lot like Ryu if he lived in the world of Tekken. Unfortunately there wasn’t much more to see from the director of the Tekken series, but he promised more will be teased via his Twitter account.

Harada has mentioned that it will most likely take his team much longer to release TxSF, as well as to avoid direct competition in sales with its counter part, so we shouldn’t expect an actual final build until well into 2012 or even 2013. It is also rumored that the Tekken team has been working on Tekken 7 for quite a while and that is the real cause for the delay. For fans of Namco fighters, the wait will probably be worth if it we get Tekken 7 or even Soul Calibur 5 in the meantime.
