KontrolFreek’s New Adapter is Call of Duty’s Next Best Friend
The FPS Freek Prestige was announced today as the next in KontrolFreek’s line of analog stick adapters, and it will be released this November alongside the much-anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops. Axing sore thumbs and bungled snipes with a little extra length and a lot of extra leverage, the Prestige fits both 360 and PS3 controllers as well as those that 3rd parties like Mad Catz designed specially for Black Ops.
The new adapter offers the same quick, precise gameplay the standard FPS Freek allows for, promising 40% better leverage and increased accuracy. It’s comfortable too, with a concave design that nestles tired digits like a baby’s bassinet. What ties the Prestige specifically to Call of Duty is Black Ops’ fresh high-stakes wager matches. To reign victorious, players must quickly alternate between a multitude of weapons and use them well, a job KontrolFreek says the Prestige will make much easier. That and it’s been laser-etched with a nifty military insignia.
The phrase “thumb fatigue” might not strike fear within your heart, but I’ve gotta give props where they’re due. After a recent introduction to one of these bad boys began my own steamy love affair with shoot ‘em ups, I can say the right gear does make a hell of a difference. Whether the Prestige is that much different than the original FPS Freek or the Legendary, its Halo friendly counterpart, remains to be seen. If you’re so inclined, place a pre-order now. The Prestige is only available as a limited edition.
