New F.E.A.R. 3 Trailer Full of Disturbing Shots From the ‘Almaverse’
Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment has decided to rip open my already scarred soul by releasing the newest trailer from Day 1 Studios’ F.3.A.R. (with input from Monolith Studios, the team that worked on the original F.E.A.R., as well as the more recent F.E.A.R. 2 – thankfully, the teams that worked on the abysmal Extraction Point and Perseus Mandate are out of the picture).
Fortunately for me, Alma (the original title’s creepy figure) is no longer a child, but a woman hell-bent on destroying everything in her path. Unfortunately for me, the game takes place 9 months after the end of F.E.A.R,. in which a healthy Alma was impregnated by the game’s protagonist, which means we may see an as of yet unannounced child again, ready and willing to induce nightmares for weeks on end.
Before this turns into a poorly written fanfic, check out the trailer for yourself – little is shown of the new gameplay mechanics, such as the co-op focused gameplay (where one player controls the protagonist of the first game and the other controls the antagonist, whose telekinetic powers have allowed him to live a life after death), but the so-called “Almaverse” is shaping up to be an exciting, albeit unsettling, environment for F.E.A.R. to take place when it releases in April of next year.
