SteelSeries Shift Kills the ZBoard Star?

SteelSeries Shift Kills the ZBoard Star?

I’ve never been a big fan of the ZBoards. While a great idea in concept, the interchangeable keyboards always felt “chincy” to me, and I could never get the damn things to hook  to the base correctly. With that being said, SteelSeries has taken its ZBoard successor, Shift, past legitimacy into the realm of usefulness. The Shift adds a high quality touch to the specially-crafted keysets, and allows the SteelSeries established name to bring in bigger developers. This, of course, will mean a bigger variety of games, such as Aion, StarCraft 2, WoW and hopefully a Vindictus board. The preset keys can all be remapped as well, as allowing for 3 layers of on-the-fly macros across the top row. As a matter of fact, every key on the Shift can be assigned to not only a macro, but to an entire series of keystrokes, or as I like to call this feature: INSTA-WIN. There’s a bunch of good juju about this thing, but I’d imagine SteelSeries could say it better than I can, so here you go…

SHIFT EVERYTHING
The Shift supports interchangeable keysets, all designed with awesome game designers.

MACRO
Advanced macros support delays. It’s almost Skynet-ish. In the good way.

PLUG IT IN
Equipped with two USB 2.0 ports as well as in- and out-audio ports.

ERGONOMICS
The rubberized feet offers 3 different height levels and ensures steadiness.

PERSONALIZATION
Every single key is fully customizable. What you want, where you want it.

LAYERS
Easily switch between layers, allowing near-unlimited options for configuration.

PREMIUM QUALITY
Gaming Grade quality ensures a life-cycle of 15 million key presses per key.

ALL GAMES
Whether your poison is FPS, RTS, MMO, Shift was designed to make you win.”

I like the part about me winning. The shift is now available at http://www.steelseries.com, at the retail cost of $89.99, with each keyset edition at around $24.99. I recommend you buy it now before I kill you. Seriously.
