Not Now MAH! I’m Playing Eternal Legacy!!!

In a recent poll, more kids want an iPad than a Nintendo DSi. In the world of portable gaming, Nintendo is dominating, the PSP is on life support, and the iPad is the new big player. It might as well be a touch screen laptop with no keyboard that you can pwn bitches in Counter Strike with, in style. Whether or not you have the iPhone/Pad or a Droid, app stores are carrying bigger and better games. One of the newest games for iPhone/iPad, Eternal Legacy, comes from the GameLoft studio.

Eternal Legacy is a Japanese-style RPG which looks like any Final Fantasy or game with the tag lines: “Honor,” “Kingdom,” “Magic Missile,” or “Britney Spears” in it (Hikaru Utada for you weeaboos). The game OBVIOUSLY has brilliant writing - “We mean you no harm, I am a Guardian.” My first impression from this teaser is that, visually, it’s very impressive for an app game. You can explore what looks to be big maps, the characters are colorful enough to keep my interest, and that’s it. I don’t think something with this kind of potential should hide behind the fact that it is an app game, and therefore must lack a decent storyline and settle for one written by James Cameron’s retarded brother. More info on this game is sure to come, but I definitely don’t feel teased by the trailer. GameLoft does have an impressive 10 year track record, but hopefully there is more to be seen from Eternal Legacy in the coming weeks.
