Dead Island the Game the Book
I’ve always been a fan of cross media entertainment just to see what might have been lost in the exchange. Finding and reading novels that have been turned into movies used to be a big past time of mine. Hell, I used to even read the Magic: the Gathering novels, no matter how god awful they were. Once I even tracked down Parasite Eve’s original novel just to figure out what the hell was going on there. So today’s news is a bit exciting for me.
Deep Silver’s Dead Island is getting a novelization treatment from British fantasy author Mark Morris. Not only is this a novel about zombies – one of my favorite subjects in any medium – but it’s being written by a fellow whose got some experience writing pretty decent novels for Doctor Who – one of my other favorite subjects in any medium. Seems like a good combo to me.
“For guests of the five-star Royal Palms Resort it was supposed to be a once-in-a-lifetime dream holiday; an escape to the stunning beaches of a tropical paradise unlike any other. But a mysterious zombie outbreak suddenly – and without warning – rips apart the pacific paradise island of Banoi, and four individuals with distinctive backgrounds and abilities seem to be unaffected by the zombie apocalypse.”
I’m pretty excited about this. Dead Island the novel is slated to release alongside Dead Island the game on September 8. I guess I’ll be making a stop to the book store that day as well.
