The Street Fighter franchise turns 25 this year, which got me thinking about what didn’t exist when Street Fighter hit arcades in 1987.

Here’s a short list of just what emerged the year after Street Fighter was born:

• Rain Man, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, Big, Twins, Die Hard, and The Naked Gun
• The Simpsons, Baywatch, Married with Children
• Rihanna, Michael Cera, Emma Stone
• PC Viruses
• Hubble Space Telescope
• Stealth Bombers
• Prozac

Sounds like 1987 was a great year to be alive, which I was, because I’m a dinosaur.
