Review – SteelSeries Diablo III Gaming Mouse

Review – SteelSeries Diablo III Gaming Mouse

A mouse is a mouse is a mouse. They are all basically the same other than the physical shape and the number of buttons they have. It is just a basic piece of hardware that we all use in our day to day lives. I agree with my fellow Golgotron writer Mr. Pharisee’s assessment that a standard mouse “…serves all my functions, gaming and non-gaming alike, just fine”. Also, like Mr. Pharisee, I found out how wrong I was when I wrapped my right hand around the SteelSeries Diablo III mouse. A simple mouse, for a simple (to control) game, the SteelSeries Diablo III mouse will show you what you have been missing with the standard mouse that has been included with every PC you have ever bought.

Review – Super Mario 3D Land

Review – Super Mario 3D Land

It only took six months but Nintendo finally released their first original must-have 3DS game. Super Mario 3D Land is another solid entry into the Super Mario Bros. series. It fits into a space right between New Super Mario Bros. and Super Mario Galaxy. Super Mario 3D Land is the perfect mix between old and new to keep things familiar without feeling stale.

Nintendo “Giving” Away Games as Club Nintendo Rewards

Nintendo “Giving” Away Games as Club Nintendo Rewards

Do you have more Club Nintendo Rewards points than you know what to do with? Loaded up on posters, folders, and cards? Well then Club Nintendo has the cure. You can now download Virtual Console and eShop games for the Wii and 3DS.

The games available at this time are Super Mario Kart (Wii),  Fluidity (Wii),  Xevious (3DS), and Mario vs.  Donkey Kong: Minis March Again (3DS).  At 100-150 Club Nintendo coins each,  these games are a steal. Normally they sell for $5. 99 to $12 each so get them while you can.  They will be removed from Club Nintendo Rewards on January 10th.

Xenoblade Chronicles’ US Release Date 4/3/2012 [UPDATE: CONFIRMED!]

Ladies and gentlemen, stop modding your Wiis. If a forum post and screen shot found in the NeoGAF Forums turns out to be true, you could be playing a localized version of Xenoblade Chronicles as early as 4/3/2012. The screen shot from the post, apparently from GameStop’s computer system, says that the game will be a GameStop exclusive and will have a price tag of $49.99. I did a quick check of the other games featured in the screen shot and everything matches up pretty well.

Review – Crimson Alliance

Review – Crimson Alliance

Crimson Alliance was one of the games that we got a chance to preview at E3 2011 and it has been release for download on the Xbox Live Marketplace. Crimson Alliance was developed by Certain Affinity, the same folks who brought you the Halo: Reach Defiant Map Pack and the original Left 4 Dead. Certain Affinity is also pitching in on the new Halo Combat Evolved Anniversary. With such a strong track record with high profile first person shooters, how would they do with a top down dungeon crawler/beat’em up like Crimson Alliance?

7 Things the Wii Still Needs to Do

7 Things the Wii Still Needs to Do

With the Nintendo Wii making its last gasps in the shadow of the Wii U, I felt that it would be appropriate to look back on the things that could have been. I came up with a list of 7 things that the Wii still needs to do before it rolls over and dies.

Review – SteelSeries Spectrum 7XB Headset

Review – SteelSeries Spectrum 7XB Headset

I have never considered myself to be much of an audiophile (well at least since I turned 19 and finally grew out of car audio equipment). I have never owned a set of floor speakers or receiver for my house as I always said that it was a waste of money. I mean, every TV has a set of speakers right? How much can you really be missing by not having a decent home theater setup? Oh how far from the truth was I. And all it took was a set of headphones from SteelSeries to prove me wrong.
