Third Strike Online: The Return of Gill/The End of Your Dignity

You'll See This A Lot...

When Capcom announced the release of Street Fighter III: Third Strike Online, it brought tears of joy to millions of fight-game-fanboys the world over.

Often considered the most underrated fighting game of all time according to a survey I fabricated (read: lied about) for this article, SF3:TSO’s release simultaneously caused Vietnam style flashbacks to many of those who suffered through the video-game equivalent of anal rape via the final boss: Gill.

I Wanna Take You for a Guide

I Wanna Take You for a Guide

No thanks, that’s what the internet is for.” I snarkly replied to the game store employee. He was asking if I would like to purchase the strategy guide to accompany my new copy of Marvel vs Capcom 3. Doesn’t he know about the information super-highway? I’ve always felt that pretty much everything there is to know about any game ever made is out there somewhere on the internet. I figured I would be able to find everything I need to know about MvC3 on Youtube, SRK, or Eventhubs.

I was almost right…

The SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Headset

The SteelSeries Siberia V2 Full-Size Headset

I have gone through tons of gaming headsets over the years, and this has got to be one of the best that I have ever owned. SteelSeries is already known for making quality equipment for gamers, and the Sibera V2 is no exception.

First of all they sound great! You always want to make sure that you can hear everything that is going on in a game. This headset gives you that luxury. In addition to the noise canceling foam around the ear cups, the Siberia V2 boasts a 50mm driver unit in each ear. That basically means its got some badass speakers in it that are perfect for everything from gaming, to music, to talking on Skype. I can only tell you so much about how good this headset sounds, it just isn’t nearly as impactful as when you try out the V2 for the first time.

Defense of the Ancients 2 – I Get My Meepo Back!

Defense of the Ancients 2 – I Get My Meepo Back!

Earlier today we were told that DOTA 2 has officially been announced by Valve, and if you’re not pumped as fuck, then get off the Internet right now. For those who have never played DOTA, let me give you a brief rundown of the game:

It’s fucking awesome.

Now that we’ve gotten that out of the way, let’s talk about what is important. Already, Valve is promising us that we will see all 100+ characters and every item from DOTA in DOTA 2. This is especially awesome because DOTA and its classes are so balanced that it would be detrimental not to. It’d be like having a Street Fighter game without Ryu, except replace Ryu with any character from DOTA. Right now it looks like DOTA 2 is more or less a 100% port to the Source Engine and changes/updates will be added as time goes on. At the same time, many character spells and abilities were limited by the now-antiquated Warcraft 3 engine, so we may see some changes in the way certain abilities act and operate.
