Review – Halo Anniversary Edition

It has been ten years since Microsoft launched the mighty Xbox and set us down on a distant planet with one of the most iconic characters in gaming today, Master Chief. Halo set the bar for shooters on consoles, seeing as it was the launch title for a console that was designed for FPS gaming. The controls were solid, the story was interesting and the multiplayer brought us all together. If you’re thinking Halo Anniversary is just a nice way to commemorate the original game with an HD remake, be ready for much much more.

Review – Tritton Detonator

Review – Tritton Detonator

I have never really used gaming headsets before other than with PC, so i decided to check out the Tritton Detonators. The headset is developed by Tritton and Mad Catz for Xbox 360 and comes with all the necessary attachments for HDMI or component. There is a wireless version or entry level wired retailing for $79.99. There is a bit of wire clutter but after a quick and easy hook up you just need to plug in the detachable mic and you’ll be ready for an amazing gaming experience.

BOMT: Final Fantasy XIII

BOMT: Final Fantasy XIII

I’ve caught up with life, time to catch up on some games. I am continuing with my computer science degree, upgraded from single room apartment to two story house, and I’m here to seal the lid with the Box of Many Things. The only way to conclude this amazing adventure is with Final Fantasy XIII. How does it stack up to the others? Did they add too many ingredients and spoil the soup? Let’s find out.

DC Universe Now Free to Play!

DC Universe Now Free to Play!

Sony Entertainment Online recently announced that their super hero MMO DC Universe is now free to play. Some people are wondering if this is just a trial run to entice you to pay the monthly subscriptions but in fact you do get full access to the game. So what are the draw backs? Mostly little annoying things but you can get the full gaming experience and enjoy it with no real restrictions to your character. For starters you can only have up to 2 free characters. Your inventory is limited to 28 slots, as well as bank slots if you end up using one. You can only have up to 1500 gold/credits/Monopoly money so if you were planing on being evil and robbing banks, the only thing standing between you and the vault is a bad economy. On top of all the minor set backs you can’t enjoy extracurriculars like guilds (Leagues) or talking to other players for very long because they limit texting and what you can share amongst players. For $15 a month it’s not much to cry over if you really like the game and have decided to dedicate your time to your character.

Box Of Many Things: Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Box Of Many Things: Ninja Gaiden Sigma

Welcome to the latest edition of the Box Of Many Things. This time I’ve been playing Ninja Gaiden Sigma, a remake/upgrade of the Xbox original. Since it’s taken me this long to get around to playing it, I think we can safely say this certainly wasn’t my reason for getting a PS3 in the first place.

BOMT: Ratchet and Clank – Clank It Up To 11

BOMT: Ratchet and Clank – Clank It Up To 11

I’m back from my futuristic endeavor to bring you the next item from the Box Of Many Things. This time I took a gander at the Ratchet and Clank series and I have to say this was one hell of an adventure. Now the series in its entirety would take a good summer’s worth if I lost my job and fiance but luckily the box only contained three titles: Ratchet & Clank (PS2), Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction (PS3), and Ratchet & Clank: A Crack In Time (PS3). Unlike other sci-fi settings, the Star Wars universe for example, technology in these games gets amazingly creative and advanced as they progress. You play as the lone Lombax, Ratchet, with his ever faithful robotic sidekick Clank. Together you face the biggest threat to the galaxy at the time, using an arsenal of kick-ass weapons and tactical devices to bring them down and save the day.
