Fable III and the Revolution – Launch Trailer

Fable III and the Revolution – Launch Trailer

Fable III is coming out on October 26th and it’s looking like you are, again, going to be leading the Revolution against the tyrannical King Logan in the now-industrialized nation of Albion. In the trailer, we see that the player character is the one brokering deals with local Revolutionary tribes, giving orders to his troops, and taking control of the population using a combination of guile and outright war scenes. I’m looking forward to the change of pace from the predominately lone-wolf experience that was Fable 2. The big problem with this trailer is that I don’t see a dog; we know the dog is coming back, it’s just a question of how much of a role it’s going to play.

Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes; Like Final Fantasy Tactics, But Funny

Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes; Like Final Fantasy Tactics, But Funny

Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes is, as the developer HeadUp Games describes it a, “parody/strategy/RPG” that plays off the tropes of the RPG genre.  The spoofs begin with the characters who range from the depressed teenage hero, to the self-righteous demi-god paladin, to finally a scantily clad fairy lady.  Considering the ability to control up to 10 characters and the scope of the enemies you’ll be fighting, you can tell that this game isn’t catering to the new player.  The game is also promising the ability to pick up wench groupies and a dialogue tree system similar to Monkey Island or Maniac Mansion.

Big Talent Voice Actors in COD: Black Ops

Big Talent Voice Actors in COD: Black Ops

Shit just got real.

Treyarch has just announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops is going to have actors Gary Oldman and Ed Harris voicing major characters.  Oldman is going to be reprising his role as Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: World at War, while Harris is going to be voicing newcomer CIA operative Jason Hudson.  On top of the voice actors, screenwriter David S. Goyer has been brought in for script consultation.  Hopefully Goyer, who has writing credits from The Dark Knight and the Blade series, will be able to make a more coherent story than Modern Warfare’s twisted narrative.  The single player for Black Ops is looking better and better every time I’ve seen it, with drivable helicopters and some crazy looking weapons (Explosive Crossbows? YES!).

Call of Duty: Black Ops is coming out November 9th of this year.  Here’s to seeing Treyarch finally get a full development cycle to make a Call of Duty, and a chance to get out of Infinity Ward’s shadow.
