Square to bring Chrono Trigger to the iPhone

Square Enix must has finally realized that the only way its going to publish a good RPG is to just re-release their old ones. Fresh off the recent release of Secret of Mana for the iPhone, today Square has launched a teaser site for a forthcoming mobile version of Chrono Trigger. This will mark 26th time they’ve tried to squeeze blood from this stone, and as money-grubbing as it sounds let’s face it we’re all still going to buy it.

The targeted release appears to be in Spring 2011, but you can go enjoy Secret of Mana right now for the low cost of 8.99 on your Apple paraphernalia. Personally, I’m going to enjoy both games right now on my emulator for the low cost of Free-99.

New Killzone 3 screens reveal it may be a shooter…

It’s always nice to wake up to a fresh batch of screen shots from a triple A title. That way I know I can at least throw up one bullshit gallery post and everyone will be happy.  I’ve never been a big fan of the Killzone series, and the second one was so dull I took it back 20 minutes after purchasing, but I have to admit it does look teh sexy. Like I stated before I’m glad that there’s at least a hint more color in this one. I’m know its not much of a difference, but I’ll take shades of brown over shades of gray any day, its at least a step in the right direction. Pics after the jump.

Buy Bulletstom, Get Gears of War 3 Beta!

Announced earlier today, Epic’s Bulletstorm will now include an added bonus, that bonus being early access to the Gears of War 3 beta. So if you’re like LGBT corispondent Justin, and all-around dead-beat NamelessTed, who get their rocks off watching large men in shoulder pads get sweaty you might want to check this out. The code comes as part of Bulletstorm’s “Epic Edition”… yeah clever… and will also be included in several other bonuses such as, additional multiplayer modes, an extra 25,000 experience points, and “visual upgrades” for your Leash, Peace Maker Carbine, boots and armor.

As of October, the Gears of War 3 beta is scheduled for early 2011. Bulletstorm hits shelves this February  for PC, PlayStation 3, and of course the Xbox 360 for the low low cost of $59.99… or while supplies last. God, I hate press releases.

Portal 2 Co-Op Robots Get Names!

At Pax this past year, Valve revealed some of the first Co-Op footage of the upcoming Portal 2. The trailer showed off a Laurel and Hardy’esq pair of robots portal-jumpin’ their way straight through a series of dangerous obstacles. Well, finally our soon to be beloved dynamic-duo, have revealed their names. The fat little blue-eyed robot is Atlas, and the lanky red-eyed one is P-body… freakin’ glorious! Leave it to Valve to get me hyped about something as simple as the reveal of character names. I’m still incredibly pissed about the delay, but the thought of the carnage a team of portal gun wielding robots can cause is just in incredible to put in to words… *mental image… smile… then frown*. Sigh, is it 2011 yet?

EA sells all iPhone games for $.99! May have lost their mind.

I think the title is pretty self explanitory, but in case you’re just that dense, EA has gone bat shit crazy and lowered all their app prices to a buck. Right now you can go pick up games like: Mirror’s Edge, Need for Speed Shift, Resident Evil 4, and Tetris, all for a buck! Merry Christmas to me… Internet News Troll!

PlayStation Euro, or whatever, has finally joined the smart phone era and decided that it was time announce its very own app. Makes some sense, especially if Sony is still planning on going through with its release of the “PlayStation Phone” sometime next year. Resistance 3: The Uncut Trailer!

As this site has pointed out on numerous occasions, the Spike VGAs are utter bullshit. However, this year they did at least do something right by revealing some bomb-ass trailers. One such “bomb-ass” trailer was for Resistance 3, and Insomnia has done us a solid by releasing an uncut version of via the internetz.

Most of the footage is just live-action stuff, but if you haven’t seen it yet you might as well take a look. I’m pretty stoked that artists at Insomnia finally found out how to turn off gray scale mode in photoshop so I can actually see what’s happening in this game. The game releases September 6th next year, so we’ll see if the gameplay holds up.
