Review – Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

I kind of feel like I’ve become a missionary for Naughty Dog in regards to the Uncharted series.  With every person I approach, I whip out an Uncharted strategy guide and excitedly ask them “Do you have a moment to talk about the Church of Nathan Drake?” Some people may think I’m joking, but I can assure you, I’m very serious. In fact, I’ve already converted a couple of previous naysayers, and now they don’t know how they lived before accepting Drake into their lives.  I was starting to calm down a bit with my search for spiritual enlightenment through the Uncharted series, and then the third installment, Drake’s Deception came out.

And I have seen the face of God in this game.

E3 2011 – Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

E3 2011 – Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City

So, on our first day of E3, I got my hands on an up and coming Capcom title, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City. Being a fan of the Resident Evil series for many years, I can say that I was very excited to sit down with this game and kill some good ol’ fashioned zombies. While the idea of slaughtering flesh-hungry, super-virus infected people is not a new one by any means, this title looks like it will bring the RE series up to speed with nearly every modern day shooter by including basic gameplay elements that have been absent for the life of the franchise.

E3 2011 – Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

E3 2011 – Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception

For those who don’t know, I have a huge boner — many boners, in fact — for Naughty Dog’s Uncharted series on the PlayStation 3. Since its initial announcement, I pretty much flipped.  I would say that Uncharted 2 is most definitely one of my favorite games of all time. How does Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception add up?

E3 2011 – Rage

E3 2011 – Rage

I’m not the biggest fan of Bethesda, to be honest. I don’t like most games that they’ve put out… I thought Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were incredibly boring (not trolling, for reals). This year at E3 I got to demo Rage, a first-person shooter developed by id Software and distributed by everyone’s (read: NamelessTed’s) favorite publisher, and actually had a fun time playing it.

I’m Still Crafty!

So in case anyone didn’t notice, I haven’t been around much lately. This is due to the fact that I’m preparing for E3mas and trying to play video games and write interesting things about them. Also, I’ve been devoting a good chunk of my time to being crafty again. Here is the latest product of my craftiness:

As you can see, it is a GolgoBit perler. Isn’t he awesome? Damn right he is.

I’m looking into mass-producing these so that some of our lucky readers, along with our core staff, will all have a GolgoBit of their very own.

Anyway, back to crafting for me!

Review – Pokémon Black

Review – Pokémon Black

To call me a fan of the Pokémon franchise would be an understatement.  While I’ve never caught ‘em all, I’ve definitely played ‘em all (the games, not the adorable little Pocket Monsters themselves), and am still a huge fan of the biggest thing to come out of Japan since sumo wrestlers.

(I was going to go with a much less tasteful joke there, but given that it hasn’t even been two weeks since large parts of Japan were left in waste, I opted not to.  Probably a wise decision.)

Anyway, Pokémon: Black Review: I CHOOSE YOU!

The Legend of Zelda: Molly’s Fantastical Retrospectacle!

The Legend of Zelda: Molly’s Fantastical Retrospectacle!

I’m just going to jump right into this by saying I was sick of the flak I was getting for calling myself a Zelda fan and never having played A Link to the Past, AKA the widely-touted “BEST ZELDA GAME EVAR!”, so I decided to finally give it a try to see what all the hubbub was about. Upon completing this classic action-adventure title I realized I wanted, nay, NEEDED more adventures in Hyrule with my favorite fairy-boy Link, so I eagerly jammed Minish Cap in the GBA slot of my DS so I could stay high on Zelda. But even though I played and beat both games, it doesn’t necessarily mean I was as enthralled with them as I was repeatedly told I would be.

*Warning: The following paragraphs may induce rage if you have a massive hard-on for A Link to the Past.
