Review: Magic 2012

Review: Magic 2012

Stainless Games really has done a superb job making Magic: The Gathering – Duels of the Planeswalkers 2012. It controls and plays as well as I could ever hope. The visual style is clean, the controls are quick to learn, and the game functions nearly perfectly. The biggest problem, and it is a HUGE one, is that it has almost no customization when it comes to creating a deck.

Review – L.A. Noire

Review – L.A. Noire

I wanted to wait several weeks before I wrote my review for L.A. Noire so I wouldn’t be impulsive to give it a really low review score. You see, I really really enjoyed the first half the game but almost completely despise the second half that it made me want to find whoever was responsible for the game and punch them in the face.

Now that I have settled down, I feel a bit different. The second half of the game probably isn’t as terrible as I imagine it to be. The problem is that the game is just so damn good all the way through the homicide missions that it was just so disappointing that the game took such a massive shit half way through.

Trailer – Crysis 2 Ultra Upgrade Available Now

Crytek released a version of Crysis 2 on PC late last year that many people complained didn’t have the visual fidelity of the original game released several years earlier. Today, Crytek has finally updated Crysis 2 to make up for those visual differences and has gone far beyond what the original title and the console versions are capable. So, if you have Crysis 2, and a beefed up PC with a DX11 GPU you should go ahead and boot it up and play away. For the rest of us, Crytek was kind enough to release an HD trailer to show off all the spectacular new visual effects. Enjoy.

Sonic Generations Demo – Another Disappointment Approaches

Sonic Generations Demo – Another Disappointment Approaches

SEGA has a beautiful way of announcing a new Sonic game just about every year and claiming that the newest title is going to be THE Sonic game that fans have been hoping for. And with each release, SEGA beautifully disappoints almost everybody. To their credit Sonic Unleashed, Sonic 4, and Sonic Colors all received marginally increasing review scores compared to the 2006 “Sonic the Hedgehog”. It is now time for Sonic Generations to step up to the plate.

Golgocast S02E24 – Season 2 Finale

Golgocast S02E24 – Season 2 Finale

The end of season 2 is finally upon us now that E3 is here. This last episode was recorded on the eve of our staff’s mass exodus to Los Angeles to attend the Electronic Entertainment Expo. Most of the episode is dedicated to our own E3 predictions and E3 related news. Now that the first couple days of E3 are behind us we can see if any of us have any idea what we are talking about. Cory, Molly, Hawkins, and Alon will continue to bring us news and stuff from E3 as they have been for the past couple of days. Also, look forward to our Season 3 premiere where we will probably be talking about all the cool shit from E3.

Steelseries Spectrum 5XB Headset Review

Steelseries Spectrum 5XB Headset Review

I have been using this headset for about five months now. At first I was totally blown away at the total awesomeness of the headset as I had never had a pair of headphones that cost more that $20. Once the initial shock of pure audio bliss wore off I started to see the few faults this headset has. The faults don’t lie in the headset itself, but with the Xbox 360 adapter that comes with it.

I absolutely love the headphones themselves. They have super soft ear pads that are able to gently mold around a pair of eyeglasses, which I do wear. The headset is also very lightweight and I barely notice it is on my head. I also enjoy the fact that the ear pads are cloth as it is softer on the skin around my ears and don’t cause sweating as a pleather material often does. All of these things add up to be an all around very comfortable set of headphones.
