Battlefield 3 Goes Back To Karkand Tomorrow on PS3

Dice is not playing around with its first DLC for its big hit Battlefield 3. The promised free expansion that was given to consumers who bought the Special Edition of the game is more than just a map pack. It will give fans of the game 4 new maps, three new vehicles, ten new weapons, five new dog tags, five new achievements/trophies, and lastly a whole new game mode. The game mode while not exactly new, is the return of Conquest Assault which for those not familiar is a hectic version of Conquest. Conquest Assault starts with one team fully in control of every spot immediately putting one team on offensive and the other tasked to defend their territory.

Minecraft 1.8 (Adventure Update) wants you to know its coming… eventually.

With September 8th rapidly approaching millions of Minecrafters are gearing up for what might be the biggest update so far. The “Adventure Update” will include the addition of new enemies, new combat mechanics, more game modes, and the long awaited “Eat to live/Food Meter” functionality, which I’m convinced is going to be twice as annoying as the Day to Night Mechanic but whatever people want it. You can actually get a full list of the updates here, as well as a look at what’s to come from future updates. Personally, I’m more excited about 1.9′s addition of Boss Mobs, but 1.8 is still going to be killer cool and will more than likely continue to keep me from using the hours of my life wisely. The trailer above gives us a look at some of the things we can expect with the release of this update. Now, the September 8th release date is to be considered a loose one, so I would get my hopes up too soon. That’s all for now…. Troll, out.

The Binding of Isaac reminds me of my time in Catholic School.

I have to hand it to Super Meat Boy‘s Co-Creator Edmund McMillen, he, and any member of Team Meat really, could have easily strayed away from their roots after the success of SMB. Ed’s new personal project , The Binding of Isaac, proves that he’s in no way shape or form interested in deviating from style. This latest trailer finally gives us a glimpse into the creepy world of Isaac. The game has been described as a “roguelike shooter” with heavy influence taken from 16-bit Action RPG era (think Zelda); personally I think it looks more more like a Smash TV-style game, but shrug.  The game follows the story of Isaac attempting to escape the clutches of his deranged mother who believes God is demanding her to sacrifice her son to prove her faith… Sounds charming

Look for it to launch via Steam for both Mac and PC this September.

E3 2011 – Rage

E3 2011 – Rage

I’m not the biggest fan of Bethesda, to be honest. I don’t like most games that they’ve put out… I thought Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas were incredibly boring (not trolling, for reals). This year at E3 I got to demo Rage, a first-person shooter developed by id Software and distributed by everyone’s (read: NamelessTed’s) favorite publisher, and actually had a fun time playing it.

E3 2011 – Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 or “How Mikey Neumann made me a believer!”

E3 2011 – Brothers in Arms: Furious 4 or “How Mikey Neumann made me a believer!”

I’ll be honest, at first glance BIA: Furious 4 did absolutely nothing for me. When Randy Pitchford, president of Gearbox Software, first took the stage at the Ubisoft conference and promised a “new take” on the WWII shooter genre I all but tried to lynch him just so more of my time wouldn’t be wasted on empty promises. To top it off the trailer that followed was downright laughable in shameless borrowing from last year’s Inglorious Basterds. But after sitting down to demo it with Mikey Neumann, Creative Director at Gearbox, it became abundantly clear that Ubisoft just did a piss-poor job of marketing its appeal.
