OoooOoooO, Spooky! Atari Remakes ‘Haunted House’.

Atari Europe has decided to remake one of the many Atari 2600 games that I’ve never even heard of, Haunted House.  They’ll be making it available for XBLA, Wii and PC.  The original looks like it’s the oldest dungeon crawler in existence, and the remake looks like the second oldest.  HEY-OH!  I honestly don’t understand why anyone would waste their time remaking this game…  Now, what I really want to see is a remake of the old ET game for the Atari.  Ohhhh yeeeeah…

PAX 2010: Fluidity on WiiWare

New details about the WiiWare title Fluidity were released at PAX last week.  This looks like it’s going to be another must buy for WiiWare judging from the trailer and screen shots.  Fluidity was playable on the show floor at PAX Prime 2010 in Seattle and a trailer was also released, which you can view above.

The game looks to combine good old fashion physics with simple gameplay, as you only need to tilt the WiiMote left or right to move the entire level.  The goal is to move water around the puzzle-based levels to achieve an objective.  Gravity will take over for the liquid and ice levels, but the gas or cloud state might be interesting.  I would guess that wind or fans are going to play a role here and that there will be hot and cold levels to freeze, thaw, and boil water to change its state, depending on the puzzle.

New WiiWare and DSiware Releases!

EN GARDE!

Nintendo’s released a new Wii Virtual Console game!  Dust off your Wiis, find some new batteries for your WiiMotes, and put up that sensor bar, because ladies and gentlemen, this is the game we’ve all been waiting for!  The new release is SAMURAI SHODOWN III! It’s a classic fighter originally released in 1995 for the NEOGEO!

BBC Announces Doctor Who Sonic WiiDriver!

BBC Worldwide and Blue Ocean have teamed up with God in an effort to make me waste even more money on useless Doctor Who paraphernalia.  FML.  The Sonic Screwdriver Wii Remote will, as far as I can tell, serve no functional purpose other than its innate ability to not get its purchaser laid.  I, luckily, have incredible hair, which will prevent being subjugated to such a terrible fate. Preview: Kirby’s Epic Yarn

With Metroid: Other M on store shelves (and currently playing on my Wii), Nintendo has shifted its focus to the next major release in its Fall lineup with Kirby’s Epic Yarn.  After skipping over the GameCube, Kirby makes his first console platformer appearance since Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards.  You remember that one right?  Yeah, me neither.  Kirby’s Epic Yarn looks like it is going to be a lot more memorable.

Epic Mickey Trailer is Epic!

So with PAX Prime 2010 done and over with, the public got a few cool new things to look forward to that were revealed at the Indie Gamer convention.  The biggest piece of news that came out was the unexpected re-announcement of Duke Nukem Forever, but I’m not here to talk about that since Rich has already covered it.  No, I’m here to show you the new and interesting trailer released for Disney’s upcoming game for the Wii – Epic Mickey.
