CES 2012 Wrap Up

After a long week spent scouring the CES 2012 convention, Chase and I sat down to weigh in on the fantastical things we had seen.  As it turns out, there actually wasn’t much that was truly surprising on the video game front. But hey, we’d traveled all the way to Vegas, so why not film ourselves talking it out? Here’s the coolest stuff we saw at the Sony and Microsoft booths, including Twisted Metal, Flight, and Nexiuz—a game that I apparently cannot bring myself to properly pronounce.

XBLA House Party 2012 Line-Up Announced

Microsoft let slip a video on Xbox Live today announcing the line-up for the House Party 2012 promotion. I’m still not sure exactly what Xbox Live Arcade games have to do with a bunch of twenty-somethings having a high-school house party, but I appreciate the effort in putting together quality titles under a single bannerhead for the purpose of sheer hype. Ready to see what’s going to be taking your money in coming month?

Review: Alan Wake – Everybody Must Play This Game

After years of delay, Alan Wake is finally available for the world to experience and it’s about time.  Remedy first announced the game back in May of 2005 alongside the Xbox 360 unveiling; yeah, it was that long ago.  This game could have easily fallen victim to long development-cycle-syndrome like Too Human and Duke Nukem Forever.  Fortunately for us, the opposite happened.  The years of hard work over at Remedy have resulted in a truly great game that delivers an experience to the player unlike any other title that I can think of.
