After a long week spent scouring the CES 2012 convention, Chase and I sat down to weigh in on the fantastical things we had seen. As it turns out, there actually wasn’t much that was truly surprising on the video game front. But hey, we’d traveled all the way to Vegas, so why not film ourselves talking it out? Here’s the coolest stuff we saw at the Sony and Microsoft booths, including Twisted Metal, Flight, and Nexiuz—a game that I apparently cannot bring myself to properly pronounce.

FiZi and I got to play with Ten One Design’s Fling at CES 2011 for a bit. Ten One Design is also known for their styli for iPhone and iPad that trigger touches on capacitive touchscreens without having to use your fingers. They have converted this technology into a joystick interface called the Fling that attaches to the iPad’s screen with two small suction cups.
Remember when the Nintendo Wii released, promising a great innovation through motion controlled gaming? Imagine — a video game experience controlled entirely through accurate, precise motion controls. Now do you remember the crushing disappointment that came two days after you bought your Wii and realized you were waving laser pointers at high tech candles? Now you know where my frustration was born and where I’m coming from when I start talking about motion controls and gaming. Trust me when I say the Razer Hydra looks to be exactly what the Nintendo Wii was supposed to be, and on top of that it’s for the PC. Continue reading…

So instead of posting all of the images from CES as thumbnails, I’ve decided to inline them all as a sort of scrapbook. This way you can tell exactly what we did at any given moment, you know, because that’s what everyone wants.
This will turn into four parts or so, Day 1, Day 2, AEE (Adult Entertainment Expo), and AEE ‘The Experience’ or some bullshit. Basically, Day 3 was AEE for me, so that’s what you get. Hit the jump for the goodness.
