Six Games That May Be Overlooked This Holiday Season (Yet Deserve Your Attention)

We are creeping up on November and have already seen the release of the first wave of big games released this holiday season with Rage, Dark Souls, and Batman Arkham City. As all gamers have been aware, the end of 2011 is going to be big. Really big. I have trouble remembering a year that had so many AAA titles being released all around the same time; it is going to be hell on our wallets. There are some other games creeping out during this time that deserve some attention, and attention I shall give them. Games that are going to be innocent bystanders in the FPS turf war between Call of Duty and Battlefield. Titles that may find themselves lost within the wilderness of Elder Scroll’s Tamriel and Zelda’s Hyrule. It’s interesting to me that there are so many smaller games that publishers are pushing out during a time when they are going to have to stand up against Batman’s rogues gallery and the witty action packed life of Nathan Drake. I feel that many of these titles would perform well on their own merit, but I fear that they will be overlooked standing aside these giants. It’s time to shed some light on these titles, and give them a small dose of the attention that they deserve.

Nintendo at Penny Arcade Expo

Nintendo opened its doors to the gaming press at E3 in Los Angeles back in June.  Starting September 3rd, consumers will get their first chance to play the upcoming Fall lineup at PAX in Seattle.  Just like at E3, The Penny Arcade Expo will feature playable versions of Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby’s Epic Yarn, Metroid: Other M, 007 Goldeneye, and NBA Jam.

Silly Sputnik, Always Dropping A Deuce On The Job…

Rumors afloat around the interwebz insist that Activision will announce a remake of GoldenEye 007, the classic N64 title, for the Nintendo Wii.  While the game has been all but confirmed, the resulting outcome may not be what everyone thinks it will be.  So, let’s do what any good website would do: speculate horribly on the rumors and possible outcomes of this title and incite flame wars about it!
