Capcom “Phones”-in Street Fighter IV Volt!

Capcom “Phones”-in Street Fighter IV Volt!

In true Street Fighter fashion, Capcom has released its latest iteration of the Street Fighter 4 mobile franchise with Volt. Keeping in line with Capcom’s strategies, heralded by way of console big brother, SF4: Volt features an updated and rebalanced version of the original game, alongside the addition of three new character (Balrog, Vega and Cody), and Wi-Fi supported online play. One might notice that nothing included in this new release truly warrants anything more than an app update, and if you noticed that… you’d be right!

I’m a huge Capcom fanboy, and I have no problem shelling out my hard-earn bucks to support the cause and all, but this one’s a little ridiculous. So far I’ve really not noticed a single improvement at all in Volt, in fact it’s actually quite laggy. Luckily, Capcom is putting on one of its weird sales, where each day the price goes up a buck till it caps at $6.99. So if you’re really that inclined you can pick it up for $1.99 today. Honestly though, unless your that much of a Vega fan, don’t bother. Pics after the jump…

Twitter Platformer Super Twario Not As Cool As It Sounds

Twitter Platformer Super Twario Not As Cool As It Sounds

Today, advertising and design agency Head First announced its brand-new iPhone App Super Twario, a game that turns your Twitter account into a side-scrolling platformer. Gamers play as hipster bunny Twario (who looks like a lame version of a Raving Rabbid), an inhabitant of a calm and serene forest decorated with tweets. Using the tilt-activated controls, it is the player’s job to guide Twario through the forest, where he can either create messages, tweet, or check out friends’ profiles and then retweet or respond to them. Along the way, gamers can earn achievements and points depending on how active they are in their Twitter account.

Gubble HD Announced for iPad by Actual Entertainment… Actually.

Gubble HD Announced for iPad by Actual Entertainment… Actually.

I’m going to start this off by being completely honest and saying I’ve never even heard of Gubble until I saw an announcement that an HD version of it would be releasing on the iPad, appropriately titled Gubble HD.  Apparently, Actual Entertainment debuted this game way back in ’96 on the PC/Mac and PlayStation, and a lot of people played it.  I must’ve been asleep or something, because I sure as hell was never aware of its existence.  At any rate, this is a true HD remake specifically for the iPhone and iPad that will retain the original music and sound effects while utilizing the touch controls Apple products are well-known for.
