MvC3 or TvC2?

MvC3 or TvC2?

After ten years of solid support and tournament play of Marvel vs Capcom 2, Capcom officially took notice and rewarded fans with what they call “a huge evolution in Versus gameplay”. Marvel vs Capcom 3 is definitely a fun game, but to me it feels more like they made Tatsunoko vs Capcom 2 and passed it off as the game we’ve been waiting to see for the better part of a decade.

I Wanna Take You for a Guide

I Wanna Take You for a Guide

No thanks, that’s what the internet is for.” I snarkly replied to the game store employee. He was asking if I would like to purchase the strategy guide to accompany my new copy of Marvel vs Capcom 3. Doesn’t he know about the information super-highway? I’ve always felt that pretty much everything there is to know about any game ever made is out there somewhere on the internet. I figured I would be able to find everything I need to know about MvC3 on Youtube, SRK, or Eventhubs.

I was almost right…

Review – Marvel vs. Capcom 3

Review – Marvel vs. Capcom 3

I was never an arcade rat. I played consoles. I didn’t cut my teeth in the trial by humiliation setting of a GameWorks or the various mall food courts across America. I’m sure Dr. Garcia and Lord Hawkins can recount with scary accuracy those epiphanal moments of “footsie” clarity earned through countless quarters and callused fingers at the threshold of a wooden box. They, like many other ,  later would  find sanctuary amongst each other at forums like Shoryuken.com to hone their craft with a feudal Japan level of discipline. They may take a lot of flack for being one-trick ponies of sorts but you can’t really argue that how impressive that is. Now, I’m sure there’s an asshole or two that might think they’d like to give it a try, claiming that there’s no real art to it and on any given day a button-masher can take down a champ. To that I’d like to invite you to investigate “Option-selects“… afterward, promptly fuck yourself.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Achievements Revealed!

Marvel vs Capcom 3 Achievements Revealed!

The fine people over at xbox360achievements.com have managed to pull the full achievement list for Capcom’s upcoming Marvel vs. Capcom 3. The list gives insight into some of the game’s as-of-yet announced features such as: Mission mode, level-based ranking, and 8-player lobbies. All in all nothing too surprising, though  I’m still pleased as NamelessTed in a bowl of punch, and February can’t get here quick enough. For the full list see the link below… Huh, why is this the first time I ever noticed that “R” in February… strange.

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: New Screens and Pre Order Bonus

Marvel vs. Capcom 3: New Screens and Pre Order Bonus

Capcom needs to stop sending out FREGGIN’ REDONKULOUS screen shots of Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and just release the game already. This new batch showcases the newly announced C.Viper and fan fave Storm beating the beejeebus out of each other. I personally don’t find either character very appealing, nor do I approve of most of the roster. But if the “Shoryuken.com leak” is true then things could get quite interesting. Below are the “supposed” last characters…

Capcom: Hsien-Ko (Darkstalkers), Akuma (Street Fighter), Haggar (Final Fight).

Marvel: Phoenix (X-Men), Sentinel (X-Men), Taskmaster (Avengers), and the final boss Galactus (Fantastic Four)

Still no Jin, which pisses me off something awful but… whatcha going to do. Marvel vs. Capcom 3 drops March 15th for both the Xbox 360 and PS3 and GameStop is giving you some kind of art book if you preorder. Link Below.
