Pac-Man and Mega Man Announced for Street Fighter x Tekken

Capcom-Unity just announced and confirmed that Pac-Man and Mega Man are coming to Street Fighter x Tekken as PS3 and Playstation Vita exclusive characters. I’m not sure what Capcom has against (or planned for) the Xbox 360 community, but so far they have not announced any exclusives for the system. In a direct response to the immediate popularity of the Darkstalkers petition, Katsuhiro Harada, Namco Bandai’s producer of fighting games, is looking for signatures to gauge the demand for a new Soul Calibur game. Harada was contacted directly on Twitter by 8WayRun.com stating that the community was dying to hear the future of the Soul Calibur series. Tekken x Street Fighter To Be Revealed At GamesCom

We got to see a taste of Street Fighter x Tekken at SDCC 2010.  Now it’s Harada’s turn to run the show and reveal Tekken x Street Fighter.  He and Yoshinoro Ono, Street Fighter series producer, will take the stage in Cologne, Germany, at GamesCom on August 19th.  There will also be on-stage tournaments for SSF4 and Tekken 6, with competitors picked at random by Harada and Ono themselves. Street Fighter vs. The World

Street Fighter vs. The World

SDCC brought fighting game fans one of the biggest surprise announcements since (zOMG) Street Fighter IV.  Not only is Capcom working with Namco to produce a Street Fighter x Tekken cross-over fighter, Namco is producing their own versus game, Tekken x Street Fighter,  presumably using the Tekken 6 engine. Both games are expected to have tag-team fighting and team-up super moves, and both are loosely scheduled for a 2012 release.
